We’ve kept it hidden as long as we could… (admittedly not long ;)), but the Abricot owners have some hidden - well it might be a stretch to say talent? - but we do like to belt a tune. 🎤🎶 We suspect some of you out there do too. And since we created Abricot to be a safe place for everyone to strut their stuff, we want to give you - and some of our fave music acts in town - the stage this weekend! We’ve got karaoke, live bands & more as we say ‘Peace Out, Summer’ ✌️🏖️😎 in style.

I’m obsessed with karaoke! Nothing makes me happier than seeing people belt out their favorite songs in the safety of a room of supportive strangers.
Favorite karaoke moments:
I have so many amazing memories from karaoke nights past, but my favorites generally involve duets with some of my besties, namely Marli, who’s always down to be the Iggy Pop to my Kate Pierson on “Candy,” and Kyle, who’s the perfect Seymour to my Audrey on “Suddenly Seymour.” And I’ll never forget the feeling of being backed by a live choir at the New York Choir Project’s “Choiroke” night!

Truth? I’m not the first to suggest a karaoke night. But as a singer /keyboard player in an amateur all-girl cover band who wishes they had two lives to lead (and the other one would be in musical theater), karaoke has some secret appeal.
Favorite karaoke moments:
I went to a birthday party at the Hi-Ball lounge — part karaoke club, part bowling alley - in Austin, Texas many years ago now. I hadn’t been going through life’s easiest moment, and this was the perfect combination of cocktails & a warm crowd to bust out with ‘Can’t Find My Way Home’ by Blind Faith. It was the first time I had sung anything in a while and it also brought me back to the joy of it. Karaoke is obviously very playful, and clearly unserious, but when you pick the right song, it’s also like therapy.
