Need more Halloween inspo? Hereâs why we love HalloweenâĻ
ALLISON:Â
Halloween is my favorite holiday by miles. You get to dress up as anything/anyone you like and people give you candy đŦ ? Sign me up! It only helps that my birthday is a couple of days before (and my brother's the day before that) đđĨŗ. We always had joint Halloween bday parties growing up, and our super creative mother made us some incredible costumes. I'm thrilled to see that Paris embraces the holiday more and more as the years go by, and elated that we're doing our part at Abricot to add more spooky szn vibes to the culture!
LISA:Â
I have to admit that for me, Halloween is mainly an opportunity to indulge in chocolate đĢ(because I dislike candies) and watch horror movies đ§ââī¸. It has never been a holiday I've celebrated much, but I really enjoy the atmosphere it creates, the decorations that bars put up for the occasion, and especially the enthusiasm it generates in some people (like Allison, for example đ)
JEN:
Halloween marks the real start of Fall đfor me, shorter days, longer, vibey nights đ¯ī¸ âĻ an excuse to stay out late âconnecting with friends, thrusting yourself on neighbors and binge-ing on treats on a âschool nightââĻ It also plays on the line between worlds of living & dead, the known & the occultâĻ itâs the weirdest holiday that gives everyone permission to let their freak flag fly. And for that reason alone, I love it.  Â
While it doesnât seem to hold the same significance as a bona fide âholidayâ here in France, our Paris community does always seem down-to-clown in costumesâĻÂ so weâre excited that Abricot can do itâs part to bring back the cosplay, the spookiness and the good-natured naughtiness of Tricks & Treats of childhoodâĻ now available in the PG-13 boozy version.
