Join us for our Holiday Hangouts at Abricot! 🎄🕎🎁🎉🤶🎶🍑
A special holiday cocktail menu, cocktails & caroling, guest chefs & musicians galore... Plus, reflections on our holiday traditions, favorite gifts & a gift idea or two of our own...
We have so much going on for the Holidays, we can hardly wait! Think cocktails & caroling with women expats🍹🍸🎶, an industry holiday hang with Ron Colon complete with games & prizes 🎁, holiday tarot readings 🔮, a Loba Patisserie dessert pop-up 🍮 +🍸and a special Hong Kong small-plates dinner & milk tea cocktails with Christine Wong 😋.
We’ve also got a new holiday cocktail menu of our own! Did you try our Coquito in the Izzy’s days? aka Egg-nog but better? 😉 We’re bringing it back for a limited time! How about the L’Chaim 🕎 from our pre-Abricot Chrismukkah popup last season? It was our bestseller, a grape-gin sour with holiday sass. We’re also heating up our own vin chaud 🍷, traditional but anything but basic with the addition of ginger and cardamom. Finally, we’re selling mandarin-hibiscus holiday daiquiris (with rosemary & cloves) exclusively by the bottle 🍾. It’s perfect for your table at Abricot, or to take to parties and family functions (Or to hoard and drink by yourself, we’re into it!) 🎊
But before we launch into that, we thought we’d take a minute to focus in on what the the essence of the Holiday season is for Team Abricot, which, (besides the bevvies of course!) is really about the opportunities that the holidays create to connect with the people we love, old & new — which is why we created Abricot to begin with…
Here are a few of our faves of the holidays. 🎄🎁 🕎 (Scroll down of course if you want to miss our musings & cut to the chase on the new drinks and holiday hangs! ⬇️ )
ALLISON:
fave holiday tradition: 🎄
Back in NYC my friends and I would get gussied up and meet at Bemelmans, the super swanky bar in the Carlyle hotel, for too many (very expensive) martinis.
fave holiday song: 🎶
Last Christmas, always and forever!
fave gift ever given? received? 🎁
I don't think I can pick faves, but the year I got a KitchenAid stand mixer was a big one (I was still an amateur baker at the time and it helped me level up!)
JEN:
fave holiday tradition: 🎄
Every year of my life, my grandmother, then my mother, and now me and my sons make tamales and posolé. The recipe has been veganized over the years, and family members have come & gone, but the laughs & conversation & general spirit of the holiday when we all gather around the table to assemble (& later eat!) the tamales remains the same.
fave holiday song: 🎶
Tim Minchin’s White Wine in the Sun aka I Really Like Christmas (and as a California girl, it’s actually possible to be drinking white wine in the sun for Christmas ☀️😎 )
fave gift ever given / received : 🎁
We had a family friend (the same one who wore sweat outfits with stilettos long before athleisure was a thing), who used to give us all Chapsticks every year wrapped with paper and rubber bands. We still giggle about the traditional Chapstick. Can’t believe I sometimes miss getting one!
Lisa:
Fave holiday tradition: 🎄
is decorating the Christmas tree and getting to come home to it’s smell and cuteness every night. I can spend hours next to the tree with a book and some hot chocolate
Fave holiday song: 🎶
I listen to any Harry Potter’s X-Mas playlist I can find online, most of the songs are composed by John Williams and it’s a great addition to the 🎄 and the hot chocolate ☕
Fave gift ever given: 🎁
A donation to La Maison de Femmes de Saint-Denis last year. It help them opening new centers to help women that are victims of violence. 💸
Fave gift ever received: 🎁
Being able to spend every holidays with my loved ones is my favorite gift each year 🥰
